Introduction
Before we discuss in detail Career Camp, a coding bootcamp, let us give you a quick brief. Dhanush Kiran has recently completed his graduation from Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology and luckily got a placement at Avalara with a CTC of 9.38 LPA.
How did you build your interest in programming?
I got introduced to programming at the end of my 10th grade. I learnt the basics of C back in school and soon after in college I took Computer Science that helped me code right from the beginning.
How did you come to know about Coding Ninjas?
When I was in my college I wasn’t much aware of how to get into top tech companies and didn’t focus much on Data Structures and Algorithms and was just doing what my friends do randomly. However, at the end of the final year, I got placed in a service-based company.
While working there, I was constantly wondering how would I get into product-based companies. While researching I found the importance of DSA and a promising portfolio.
That is when I got introduced to Coding Ninjas on a google search with good reviews. And that is when I immediately contacted them and got my queries around the enrollment resolved.
How did you come to know about Career Camp (the largest coding bootcamp)?
Before joining the coding bootcamp, I already was enrolled in two courses with Coding Ninjas. The courses were of great quality and content but I was on a constant lookout for a job opportunity. When I came to know about Career Camp, which was designed to cater to your learning and placement needs, I immediately applied for it.
What did you like about Coding Ninjas’ coding bootcamp-Career Camp?
The course content taught by the faculty, the incredible support provided by the placement team in organising mock interviews, sessions with industry experts were some of the key features that I loved.
Encouraging students to attend coding events on other platforms and conducting mock project tests was an added advantage that helped me to hone my skills.
Interview experience at Avalara.
My interview experience comprised of four rounds as mentioned below.
- First Round: Two questions on Data Structures and Algorithms along with a few questions on the projects (in my resume) were asked.
- Second Round: This round focused more on Javascript related questions like Closures, Null vs Undefined, IIFE etc. The interviewer also asked basic programming questions like Memory Allocation, Stack vs Heap Memory and general questions like how would I choose a tech stack for a project.
- Third Round: The assignment I was given in this round was to design a console application in three days.
- Fourth Round: It was an HR round which mainly had questions around the products of the company and the working policy.
After joining Avalara I have worked on projects involving the latest technologies. My first work was to create an internal website. I am delighted to be working at this company and the opportunity I got with the help of Career Camp.
How would you define your journey with Coding Ninjas?
Coding Ninjas has brought me the awareness of the industry expectations that I lacked. They stood with me from the stage of struggling to bag an offer at Avalara. My switch from a service to a product company was possible only because of them and my hard work.
