Today Uday Shankar Acharya a B.Tech and Computer Science Student of Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology shares about his journey of joining an online career camp by Coding Ninjas.
How did you get interested in programming and development?
I was always into computers right from assembling my PC at the age of 15 or editing/modding game files. But I was never into mainstream coding to which I was introduced later after college.
When did you start coding?
I deep-dived into Java Bootcamp (my first proper coding language) during my third year of college. Before that, I was jumping around C, Python and mostly reading basic theoretical material.
How did you start and how was your journey so far?
I started by enrolling in Coding Ninjas’ Java Bootcamp with Data Structures & Algorithms course. I couldn’t have asked for a better start for my career. The course not only honed my problem-solving skills but also laid down a foundation for me.
My overall coding journey has been delightful. I have always liked to code. If ever I want to be tested during a job interview, I would want it to be code/development related.
How did you come across the Career Camp Programme?
Being a past student of Coding Ninjas, I was contacted by their team for this meticulous programme.
What made you opt for Career Camp?
Being familiar with Coding Ninjas’ excellent structure and mentors, I opted for this programme as I envisioned myself becoming an excellent full stack developer. The overall structure, mock interviews, industry mentors, and a lot more helped me.
What did you like about Career Camp?
I enjoyed pursuing their Weekly and bi-weekly tests followed by review and grading at every step. To top it all, they had an amazing lineup of extra webinars regularly for the students.
Tell us about your interview procedure in detail?
As I applied for a startup, the interview was more around design, real-world scenario solving rather than Data Structures. There were two rounds conducted via Google Meet.
First Round: Dynamic Programming (buying and selling of stocks to max profit), design a parking lot using OOPS concepts. The Interviewer was keen to hear the questions I came up with and how was I able to connect various dots in less time.
Second Round: It was more around my previous work experience, projects, and their complexity. They were keen to learn my thought process around the complexities, TAT, and deliverables.
There was also a discussion around the design and code.
Design and Schema (DB) implementation of Zomato API for the following use cases:
- Get restaurants
- Restaurant-specific items + overall deals to display
- Customisation at the item level
Any other projects you have worked on or are working on?
I have worked on a replica of Amazon. I built it to test my skills once I completed the course of Coding Ninjas.
How was your experience with Coding Ninjas?
It was overall a good experience. Navdeep Sandhu sir helped the whole batch a lot with questions and concepts on Data Structures. On the other hand, Arpan sir explained MERN in a very easy to understand and real-world applicable format. Not to forget, Aakash Tyagi sir personally worked with our batch by taking multiple webinars. Everything I know about JS is because of him.
